Director of Events

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City; international travel required

Salary: $185,000–$240,000 per year plus equity; USD salary ranges apply only to U.S.-based positions.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, calendar, budgets, production, and results for hosted, speaking, and sponsored events.
• Produce launches, dinners, summits, and roadshows, covering concepts, programming, venues, vendors, and run of show.
• Lead the executive speaking program and prepare speakers for selected stages.
• Negotiate sponsorships, design event footprints, and manage field events with Sales.
• Partner with Brand, Creative, Product, Comms, Finance, Legal, executives, and customers.
• Build the events team, operating system, playbooks, vendor network, budgets, and measurement framework.

Requirements

• 12+ years of event production experience, including large hosted events, sponsorships, and field programs.
• Experience building or leading an events team, preferably in-house at a technology company.
• Experience owning large budgets, agency relationships, vendor contracts, and sponsorship negotiations.
• Strong production knowledge covering run of show, staging, AV, registration, staffing, security, and permits.
• Experience measuring event attribution, brand sentiment, pipeline, signups, and event returns.
• Based in San Francisco or New York City and willing to travel internationally. Power-user experience with AI tools is required.
