Design Engineer III (Aerospace)

Develops and integrates aircraft structures, cabin and cargo interiors, and related aerospace solutions for airline customers.

What you will do

• Develop and customize aircraft cabin and cargo interior designs and payloads from concept through final installation.
• Perform detail part design, layout maturation, trade study analysis, certification activities, and in-service support.
• Create and modify technical documents in Airbus computer-based applications.
• Collaborate with engineering departments to develop effective technical and functional solutions.
• Prepare technical documents and presentations, communicate project status, and provide engineering support to airline customers.
• Support local improvements to team processes, methods, tools, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• At least six years of experience in design and analysis for cabin, cargo, and/or systems installation projects.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, and bills of material, with basic knowledge of aircraft design, certification, and maintenance regulations.
• Experience with 3D modeling; CATIA experience is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal English communication is required. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace, are also required.

Nice to have

• Software development experience in C, C++, Python, or another programming language.
• Working knowledge of Airbus Structures.
• Experience working with airlines or maintenance, repair, and overhaul organizations.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a minor in computer science.
• Conversational French or German.
