Senior Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Wichita, Kansas, United States. Travel required: 5% domestic and international.

What you will do

• Develop and modify aircraft structures and system installations, including metallic and non-metallic parts.
• Create design solutions for electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system installations.
• Produce and update design datasets, product structures, and related technical documentation using hirify.global applications and toolsets.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, F&DT, and other engineering departments to develop optimized design solutions.
• Lead technical discussions, presentations, projects, and customer-driven activities.
• Mentor less experienced designers and support improvements to engineering processes, methods, and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, civil, or mechanical engineering, with emphasis on structural design, analysis, and mechanics of materials.
• At least 9 years of experience in design and analysis of airframe structures and/or system installation projects.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
• In-depth knowledge of design principles, theories, concepts, documentation, techniques, and procedures.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE, including multiple CATIA workbenches.
• Effective verbal and written English communication is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with metallic or composite airframe structures and electrical harness, fuel line, or hydraulic system installations.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or another language.
• Working knowledge of hirify.global Structures.
• Conversational French and/or German.
