TL;DR
Procedure Technician - GI Endoscopy, Full-Time, Days (GI Endoscopy): Supporting nurses and physicians during gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures by preparing rooms, assisting with patient flow, cleaning equipment, and maintaining supplies with an accent on patient safety, infection control, and efficient room turnover. Focus on preparing patients and procedure areas, sterilizing endoscopic equipment, handling specimens and paperwork, and supporting safe patient movement throughout the department.

Location: 259 E. Erie, Chicago, Illinois, United States. Full-time, onsite, day shift.

Salary: $22.58–$32.74 per hour

What you will do

  • Prepare GI endoscopy procedure rooms, patients, paperwork, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support nurses and physicians during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection.
  • Facilitate patient flow, escort and lift patients, assist with discharge, and apply comfort and safety measures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment and department accessories according to protocol.
  • Monitor schedules, maintain supplies and linen, report equipment malfunctions, and support efficient room turnover.
  • Use departmental software and provide assigned clerical and technical support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Effective medical-professional communication with physicians, nurses, and patients.
  • Problem-solving, organizational, computer, and infection-control knowledge.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work onsite in Chicago, Illinois, United States.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in life sciences.
  • Previous patient-care environment experience.
  • Bilingual language skills or modality experience.
  • Completed SGNA Associates Program Part I.
