Medical Assistant

Location: Joliet, Illinois, United States; onsite health center

Salary: $25.00–$28.00 per hour

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, and operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Support front-desk operations, schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, and order medical supplies.

Requirements

• National Medical Assisting certification from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed hands-on externship; fully online courses are not accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider.
• CMA certification from a recognized certifying body approved by the relevant Board of Medical Examiners where applicable.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• Full-time availability for 40 hours per week, with scheduled weekday shifts and a one-hour daily lunch closure.
