Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: Centreville, Virginia, United States; office-based role. U.S. Citizenship is required, and the position requires eligibility to obtain at least a Secret DoD security clearance. Regular travel of up to 40% is expected.

Salary: $129,500–$197,500 per year

What you will do

• Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for real-time automated target recognition.
• Build object detection, classification, localization, and tracking solutions for stationary and mobile sensor platforms.
• Analyze, select, label, and visualize imagery datasets for deep computer vision model training.
• Design experiments, evaluate model performance, analyze errors, and optimize algorithms.
• Write and test software integrating machine learning algorithms into aircraft, autopilots, payloads, and other systems.
• Contribute across requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, testing, and validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline, plus 5+ years of relevant machine learning or computer vision experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant computer vision experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
• Proficiency with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch, and libraries including OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas.
• Familiarity with Linux, CUDA, JetPack, TensorRT, Nvidia Jetson processors, and Nvidia GPUs.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain at least a Secret-level DoD security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with algorithmic optimization, complex system troubleshooting, and exploratory data analysis of large datasets.
