Senior Perception Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days per week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The role requires up to 10% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year

What you will do

• Develop and optimize perception algorithms for autonomous and operator-assisted off-road machines.
• Design, implement, test, and integrate sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, and classification solutions.
• Collect, analyze, and annotate customer and machine data for ML training and iterative model improvement.
• Create architecture, software design, verification, test, operating, and safety documentation.
• Debug and validate perception software using code, logs, sensor data, and machine performance data.
• Collaborate with application, engineering, and research teams to deliver safe, production-quality autonomy solutions.

Requirements

• Strong C++ programming skills and fluency in Python.
• Experience with computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, and classification algorithms.
• Experience developing perception systems for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or operator-assist systems using lidar, radar, and camera sensors.
• Strong software engineering, debugging, code quality, verification, and validation practices.
• Experience with Agile software development and production-quality autonomous systems.
• Must work onsite full-time at the Irving, Texas office; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS/AIS, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Git, CMake, Docker, and GoogleTest.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira and AWS services including EC2, S3, and Batch.
• Experience developing systems focused on machine safety and productivity.
