Mechanical Design Engineer (Automotive AI)

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving that integrates with vehicle platforms and global automotive partners.

What you will do

• Design and integrate mechanical solutions for sensors and compute across multiple vehicle platforms.
• Own design trade-offs involving performance, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and quality.
• Develop and build hardware-in-the-loop systems, test rigs, jigs, and fixtures for validation and integration.
• Produce 2D drawings, assemblies, bills of materials, and GD&T documentation.
• Partner with supply chain and suppliers to manufacture parts using sheet metal, machining, vacuum casting, and 3D printing.
• Collaborate with electronics and engineering teams and support fleet and field teams with build, inspection, safety, and quality documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical or design engineering.
• Relevant work portfolio submitted alongside the resume is required for consideration.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with SolidWorks PDM, master models, and multi-part assemblies is beneficial.
• Experience with sheet metal, machining, vacuum casting, and 3D printing, with strong design-for-manufacture judgment.
• Experience designing and building test jigs, rigs, and fixtures in a hands-on workshop environment.
• Strong 2D drawing, assembly, BOM, GD&T, and FMEA or DFMEA experience.

Nice to have

• Surface modeling experience.
• Familiarity with aluminium extrusion-based builds.
• Understanding of electronic systems, including voltage basics, harness development, and compute selection.
• Hands-on FDM printing experience.
