Mechanical Engineer (Dry Gas Seals)

Location: Slough, United Kingdom; full-time, permanent position in Europe

What you will do

• Drive innovation and future technology initiatives within the Dry Gas Seals function.
• Identify market trends and customer needs to influence product development strategy.
• Build relationships with customer engineering teams and participate in technical discussions.
• Develop mechanical concepts and designs using SolidWorks.
• Manage prototype development, component ordering, test builds, and validation activities.
• Coordinate with procurement, testing, materials, and core technology teams in an agile development environment.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical design experience and proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience in R&D, product development, or innovation-focused engineering.
• Evidence of initiating and leading new technology or product ideas.
• Experience taking concepts through design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Background in Dry Gas Seals, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, compressors, bearings, filtration systems, gearboxes, or wind turbine mechanical systems.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer status or active progress toward CEng.
• Master's degree or PhD.
• Direct customer-facing engineering experience.
• Experience using customer or market insights to influence product strategy.
