Vehicle Image Engineer (Automotive)

Location: GB Bedford - Franklin Court; primarily home-based with occasional travel to hirify.global Head Office in Wootton, Bedfordshire or an Operation Centre when required.

What you will do

• Assess vehicle damage using images, documentation, and available vehicle information.
• Prepare accurate engineer’s reports for insurance companies and amend reports where necessary.
• Interpret damage extent, repair methods, and potential repair consequences.
• Research vehicle values using mileage, condition, previous damage, HPI information, and other relevant factors.
• Assign salvage categories according to the ABI Code of Practice and hirify.global guidelines.
• Use estimating and valuation systems while meeting agreed SLAs and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven body shop estimating experience or comparable vehicle damage assessment experience.
• Strong knowledge of motor vehicles, damage types, repair methods, and VDA.
• Experience with computerised repair estimating systems and tools such as Glass’s, CAP, Audatex, and HPI.
• Understanding of insurance claims procedures and basic legal vehicle roadworthiness requirements under the Road Traffic Act.
• Accurate interpretation of vehicle damage from images, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and good Microsoft Office skills.
• Membership of, or willingness to enrol with, a relevant professional body such as MIMI, IAEA, or IRTE.
