TL;DR
Senior EOL Test Engineer, Quality (Automotive): Ensuring manufacturing quality for autonomous-driving hardware integrations into OEM vehicles with an accent on end-of-line testing, system validation, and failure analysis. Focus on developing test plans, debugging embedded systems, analyzing defects, and coordinating corrective actions across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Location: On-site at a partner facility in Livonia, Michigan, United States

Base salary: $135,000–$196,000 per year, plus annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Ensure manufacturing quality for the autonomous-driving hardware kit integrated into OEM vehicles, with a focus on end-of-line testing.
  • Design, develop, and implement test plans for complex hardware systems and deploy scripts and software to test systems.
  • Analyze test data, create reports, troubleshoot system and component failures, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Use diagnostic software, measurement instrumentation, CAN tools, custom test harnesses, fixtures, Linux, and Python.
  • Build tools for test and quality-management data systems and coordinate solutions with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Support manufacturing technicians, continuous improvement, non-conformance management, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality, autonomous-vehicle manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, robotics, or an equivalent field.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software concepts and experience with C++, Python, or equivalent programming and scripting.
  • Experience testing and characterizing TCP/UDP, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, and UART communication protocols.
  • Ability to interpret complex system architectures, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and willingness to work on-site with autonomous trucks.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GitHub, complex electronic assemblies, manufacturing cable assemblies, and automotive manufacturing quality specifications.
  • Ability to provide objective feedback on complex system issues.
  • Ability to travel to company locations in the continental United States.
