Senior Software Development Manager (AI)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: USD 175,000–197,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The stated range applies to US locations.

What you will do

• Build, grow, and manage a high-performing organization of 8–10 software developers across multiple squads.
• Own model and agent serving infrastructure that provides a reliable, self-service path to production.
• Deliver evaluation and monitoring tooling for pre-release assessment, regression analysis, and production drift monitoring.
• Lead project planning, resource allocation, and technical roadmaps with Data Science and Product.
• Translate developer and model-building team needs into scalable platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating ML/AI platforms, including model and agent serving and evaluation.
• 8+ years of experience in software, data, cloud, or ML development roles.
• 3+ years of people management experience leading software or ML development teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams across planning, prioritization, and delivery.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with MLOps, responsible AI, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or life sciences experience, including HL7 FHIR standards.
• Experience with governance and evaluation frameworks for LLM-based models and agents.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
