Engineering Manager, Voyager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Annual salary: $207,000–$253,000 CAD; typical starting salary for full readiness is $230,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Own the reliability, security, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle of shared LLM infrastructure.
• Lead R&D initiatives and proof-of-concepts for emerging technologies, recommending whether and how to adopt them.
• Enable product teams with tooling, patterns, and guidance for shipping AI workflows safely and quickly.
• Plan and deliver platform and R&D initiatives while maintaining quality, timelines, priorities, and business alignment.
• Establish engineering processes including sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design reviews.
• Hire, onboard, coach, and develop senior and staff-level engineers while building clear growth paths.

Requirements

• Experience managing senior-heavy engineering teams, including senior and staff-level engineers.
• Hands-on experience building reliable, observable, and safe agentic systems in production at scale.
• Strong technical foundation with experience shipping high-quality products and reviewing architecture and technical designs.
• Ability to lead teams across both exploratory prototypes and production systems.
• Strong judgment when evaluating emerging technologies and communicating recommendations to leadership.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive initiatives with meaningful product impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled development tools such as Cursor or Claude.
