Director of Platform Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote - Canada

Annual base salary: CA$187,000–CA$237,000, excluding discretionary bonus; equity is available.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Unified Security Posture data platform roadmap in partnership with Product and SRE.
• Lead data pipeline development, including endpoint-agent and vendor-data integrations, storage, tiered access, and query capabilities.
• Deliver platform services and public APIs for tenant management, identity, and role-based access control.
• Oversee developer productivity tooling, CI/CD systems, data architecture, modeling, governance, and platform operations.
• Establish practices for instrumentation, incident response, root cause analysis, remediation, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Hire, mentor, and grow platform and data engineering teams while driving AI adoption across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software development experience, preferably in cybersecurity.
• At least 5 years of people management experience leading multiple teams and proven Director-level platform engineering leadership.
• 5+ years working with large-scale AWS solutions, Postgres, Elastic, Redis, streaming data platforms, and ETL processes.
• Hands-on experience architecting complex data platforms and service integrations.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, production deployment at scale, and data pipeline orchestration.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
