Technical Program Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Build and lead the technical programme management function supporting the Data organisation.
• Coach and develop a small TPM team, hiring to address capability gaps and raising delivery standards.
• Own planning, prioritisation, and execution across the data roadmap with Data and Engineering leadership.
• Lead programmes covering data platforms, ingestion and standardisation pipelines, enrichment, curation, labelling, annotation, and dataset management.
• Manage dependencies, risks, blockers, governance, escalation paths, and operational reviews across data, ML, engineering, and external suppliers.
• Drive measurable improvements in data quality, throughput, cost, and time-to-insight.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience delivering technical data programmes across platforms, pipelines, enrichment, curation, or labelling.
• Experience building or scaling programme functions, leading people, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong technical depth in data platforms, pipelines, and distributed infrastructure, including petabyte-scale platforms.
• Understanding of data ingestion stages, pipelines, directed acyclic graphs, machine learning, GPUs, and model training and inference for models with 500 million to 20 billion parameters.
• Proficiency with some or all of Databricks, Flyte, Ray, Kubernetes, Azure, Docker, Python, and AI agents such as Cursor, Claude, or Codex.
• Ability to align and influence Data, ML, and Engineering stakeholders, operate in ambiguity, and connect delivery to measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale distributed data platforms used by hundreds of engineers and researchers.
• Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other large-scale data and ML programmes.
• An engineering or computer science degree, engineering experience, and familiarity with delivery tools such as Jira.

Hiring process

• Competency interviews covering TPM process and cross-functional work, followed by deep-dive technical interviews on programme design, leadership, and management.
• Final 30-minute interview focused on mission and values alignment.
