Project Engineer (Heavy Civil Construction)

Location: Burnsville, Minnesota; the current project is located in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Work is performed primarily on active construction sites in the United States, with travel between job sites and nationally based subsequent projects.

Base salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution of heavy highway and civil construction activities.
• Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong focus on safety.
• Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Provide on-site technical direction to foremen, crews, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily reports, quantities, quality-control records, and project documentation.
• Support cost tracking, schedule updates, and communication with project management, owners, inspectors, and field teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least one year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or in a similar heavy civil or highway construction role.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, equipment, and materials.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, job-site safety practices, and mandatory PPE requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
