Location: Remote within the United States, with preference for the Greater Boston area, periodic Boston office work, quarterly Boston office travel for remote candidates, and 20–30% travel to assigned project sites.
Salary: $134,000–$194,000 base salary annually, plus potential performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity.

What you will do
- Lead two to three solar PV, distributed generation, community solar, and BESS projects from Notice to Proceed through construction, commissioning, commercial operation, and final closeout.
- Convert sold projects into executable plans covering scope, budget, schedule, procurement, permitting, interconnection, risks, staffing, and subcontractor strategy.
- Direct cross-functional teams including construction, engineering, procurement, safety, quality, project controls, subcontractors, OEMs, utilities, and consultants.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, contingency, cash flow, margins, change orders, claims, schedule recovery, and commercial risks.
- Serve as the primary client contact while coordinating with utilities, developers, authorities having jurisdiction, and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, energization, turnover, punch-list completion, documentation, training, warranties, and final account reconciliation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant construction experience.
- At least 10 years of construction project management experience, including at least 5 years with solar PV, BESS, distributed generation, community solar, or related power infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing projects valued from $5M to $150M or more, with strong EPC/EPCM delivery, subcontract management, and construction execution skills.
- Proven experience with change-order negotiation, claims management, cost forecasting, remote team leadership, and mentoring project managers.
- Willingness to travel 20–30% to project sites and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 70E, NEC, AHJ/fire-department permitting, IRA prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements, and certified payroll documentation.
Nice to have
- Utility-scale solar and BESS construction and commissioning experience, including OEM coordination and energization.
- Utility interconnection experience with ISO-NE, PJM, MISO, or similar markets.
- PMP, PE, OSHA 30, or NABCEP credentials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, and other construction management software.
