Senior Preconstruction Project Manager (Renewable Energy)

Salary: $118,500–$148,325 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead preconstruction activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects from early development through execution readiness and EPC agreement completion.
• Assess project maturity across permitting, site control, interconnection, design, procurement, logistics, and constructability.
• Integrate engineering, estimating, procurement, equipment delivery, logistics, and commercial operation milestones into project schedules.
• Prepare EPC RFP packages, manage bidder communications and RFIs, evaluate proposals, and develop selection recommendations.
• Support EPC contract negotiations, target-price development, cost reviews, risk mitigation, and commercial strategy.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and provide execution-ready information for handoff to construction project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in renewable energy project development, preconstruction, estimating, engineering, procurement, construction, or project management.
• Understanding of the utility-scale project lifecycle, including permitting, interconnection, procurement, EPC contracting, and construction execution.
• Experience with EPC solicitations, bid evaluations, commercial negotiations, cost reviews, and project risk assessments.
• Knowledge of utility-scale solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Primavera P6, Procore, Quickbase, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Microsoft Teams, or comparable tools.

• Experience managing portfolios of utility-scale renewable energy projects in a matrixed organization.
• Knowledge of domestic content, prevailing wage, and apprenticeship requirements.
• Experience leading project teams, mentoring colleagues, or improving project-controls processes.
