Buyer (Automotive Purchasing): Supporting automotive program launches through sourcing, RFQs, tooling procurement, BOM tracking, supplier negotiations, and purchasing deliverables with an accent on cost control, technical feasibility, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on evaluating cost breakdowns, negotiating product changes, managing multiple priorities, and delivering sourcing recommendations within program timing and budget.
Location: Plymouth, Michigan, United States; some travel may be required.

What you will do
- Support flawless automotive program launches and ensure purchasing deliverables meet program timing and budget.
- Prepare RFQs and source parts and tooling.
- Negotiate product changes, supplier terms, and sourcing agreements.
- Support VAVE activities, BOM tracking, and sourcing tracking.
- Participate in technical feasibility reviews and multifunctional program reviews.
- Work with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance while influencing without direct authority.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of automotive purchasing experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze cost breakdowns, summarize complex issues, and present recommendations to management.
