TL;DR
Associate, Development Engineering (Renewable Energy): Developing preliminary designs, energy resource assessments, and production models for large-scale clean energy and data center infrastructure with an accent on solar technologies, project optimization, and engineering standards. Focus on creating 10% designs, evaluating vendors and EPC partners, and solving technical challenges across renewable energy projects before construction.

Location: Hybrid work from the Washington, D.C., Dana Point, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT, or Lake Oswego, OR office at least 3 days per week; travel up to 25%.

What you will do

  • Create and manage preliminary designs and development-stage studies for large-scale clean energy projects.
  • Prepare 10% in-house designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D, PVcase, and internal tools.
  • Develop energy resource assessments, production models, and performance testing standards.
  • Manage on-site solar resource assessment and deployment.
  • Optimize projects for offtake, LCOE, IRR, and other commercial and technical objectives before EPC LNTP.
  • Review engineering consultants, equipment vendors, engineers of record, and EPC contractors while coordinating design standards with the EPC team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 1–2 years of renewable energy experience.
  • Understanding of renewable energy markets, solar energy technologies, and project finance principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CAD tools, and PVsyst or equivalent energy modeling software.
  • Basic understanding of civil, structural, and electrical engineering design, with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
