Early Careers - Infrastructure Engineer Intern

Location: Hybrid; Chicago, Illinois, or Richardson, Texas. Flex employees are expected to work in the office at least three days per week.

Base pay: $19.13–$34.17 per hour.

What you will do

• Participate in a formal ten-week infrastructure internship supporting business and technical projects.
• Own assigned project components and deliverables with guidance from a mentor and manager.
• Research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations for business decisions.
• Review infrastructure playbooks, suggest modifications, and support process improvements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and learn the tools used by infrastructure teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver a final project presentation to department leadership.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information technology, or information systems; rising senior standing required.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Available for the full ten-week internship program.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills, with practical experience using Office 365 and virtual collaboration tools.

Nice to have

• Prior technical internship or work experience.
• Interest or experience with IT systems, cloud platforms, automation tools, operating systems, networks, or IT peripherals.
• Participation in IT associations, organizations, or technical competitions.
• Interest in the healthcare payer industry or a career in IT.
