Medicinal Chemistry Project Leader (Degrader-Antibody Conjugates)

Location: Remote or hybrid, with on-site work available at the headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead chemistry efforts on PROTAC projects from inception through clinical candidate nomination and milestone decisions.
• Design and synthesize PROTACs, degrader-antibody conjugates, and compound libraries using computational chemistry resources.
• Analyze complex, multivariate SAR datasets and generate testable hypotheses for program advancement.
• Coordinate external CRO resources to deliver synthetic work and data according to project timelines and standards.
• Solicit and analyze experimentation to identify priorities, resolve issues, and support evidence-based decisions.
• Communicate scientific strategy, recommendations, and project updates to multidisciplinary teams, executives, and external organizations.

Requirements

• PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry with 8+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug discovery experience.
• Proven experience leading research projects through milestone decisions toward clinical candidate nomination.
• Extensive experience in the synthetic and medicinal chemistry of antibody-drug conjugates; degrader-antibody conjugate experience is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of structure-based design, SAR generation, multiparametric optimization, pharmacokinetics, and in vivo pharmacology.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate project needs and strategy with multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders.
• U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship is required. The role also involves working with biological, infectious, and hazardous materials and using PPE.
