Senior Buyer - Communications

Location: Carpentersville, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annual base salary, depending on qualifications and experience

What you will do

• Manage purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies across assigned commodity groups.
• Obtain quotations, place purchase orders, determine economical sources, and locate new suppliers.
• Manage the vendor base, conduct vendor audits, maintain vendor information, and provide feedback.
• Support major project teams and Engineering with new product and vendor development.
• Expedite deliveries, control inventory levels, and maintain or improve purchase costs against established standards.
• Negotiate major contracts and support Material Review Board activities, including Discrepant Material Reports and part analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience with project management and MRP purchasing.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new engineering concepts, work independently, and maintain attention to detail.
• General knowledge of ISO 9000 and availability for nonstandard or extended work schedules.

• C.P.M. certification.
