Bank Audit Director

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. The role requires existing authorization to work in the United States and does not provide employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship. Travel up to 25% may be required.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit strategy and annual plan aligned with the bank’s risk profile, global priorities, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead risk assessments, identify emerging risks, and mature the three lines of defense model.
• Oversee audits, root-cause analysis, and clear, actionable reporting.
• Advise executive leadership on internal controls, governance, significant risks, and exposures.
• Communicate with regulatory examiners and the Audit Committee, providing supporting documentation and strategic insight.
• Mentor and develop the audit team while advancing analytics, automation, and AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive relevant experience in a complex regulatory environment.
• Professional audit certification such as CPA, CIA, CFE, CRMA, or CFSA.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and co-source partner activities.
• Strong communication, executive presence, regulatory examination, and documentation skills.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Bank-related certification such as ABA, CBA, or CFA.
• Experience championing analytics, automation, or AI initiatives in audit.
