What you will do

• Develop communication, localization, and sensing applications for NXP edge devices.
• Gather requirements, contribute to system architecture, and implement proof-of-concept solutions using the NXP Edge-AI platform.
• Deploy, test, validate, debug, and commission embedded software systems.
• Collaborate across engineering domains and with external partners on European research projects and innovation initiatives.
• Represent NXP in project consortia, customer events, trade shows, and exhibitions.
• Support competency development through student project supervision and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Security Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Practical embedded software development experience, including microcontroller or microprocessor programming and sensor or chip interfacing.
• Experience across the complete software development lifecycle, from prototyping through testing, debugging, validation, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of PCB schematics and layout design, soldering, and measurement equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, FreeRTOS, bare-metal operating systems, Android, and Linux/WSL.
• English at C1 level is required. Security-related responsibilities and work within security certifications require a conscious and reliable approach.

Nice to have

• Python programming and AI tool knowledge.
• Fluent German.
• Experience with UI development or 3D printing.
