TL;DR
Senior Software Simulation Engineer (Aerospace) (C++/Python): Developing high-fidelity, distributed real-time simulation applications and scalable simulation frameworks with an accent on modern C++, low-latency networking, and cloud-native deployment. Focus on designing software architectures, building CI/CD and virtualization environments, and creating developer tools and automated testing frameworks for R&D and acceptance testing.
Location: Manching, Germany; mobile working and part-time options are available where possible.

What you will do
- Lead the architecture of next-generation software components from proof of concept to scalable, production-ready simulation frameworks.
- Develop high-performance C++ simulation models and their supporting software ecosystem.
- Design communication layers for distributed real-time applications and low-latency data exchange across complex networks.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and use containers, virtual machines, and related technologies for deployment across diverse hardware environments.
- Create developer tools, code generators, and automated testing frameworks to accelerate R&D.
- Contribute across the full lifecycle, from requirements engineering through integration and acceptance testing, using agile methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in complex software environments, particularly simulation or real-time systems.
- Expert knowledge of modern C++17/20, memory management, and real-time constraints, plus proficiency in Python.
- Experience with modular software architecture, networking protocols, Docker, Kubernetes or virtual machines, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- Experience with Git, distributed collaboration tools, unit and integration testing, and Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
- Fluent English is required.

- Experience with Qt/QML or Go.
- German and/or Spanish language skills.
