Enterprise Architect Director (Biopharma)

Location: San Diego, California, United States

Annual base salary: $195,700–$267,000, plus a 35% target annual bonus and equity incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Define enterprise architecture vision, target-state architecture, standards, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
• Establish architecture frameworks, reference architectures, design principles, governance forums, review boards, and exception management.
• Guide end-to-end architecture across ERP, CRM, PLM, supply chain, quality, laboratory, and financial platforms.
• Define enterprise integration, API, middleware, data, analytics, cloud, security, and AI architecture strategies.
• Lead architecture work for modernization, portfolio rationalization, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, system separations, and in-licensing.
• Manage architecture budgets, roadmaps, vendors, external partners, and executive alignment on technology investments and risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 8+ years in enterprise or solution architecture and 5+ years leading enterprise architecture initiatives or complex technology programs.
• Strong experience with integration architecture, API management, event-driven patterns, enterprise middleware, and modern data architecture.
• Experience with public cloud architecture on AWS and/or Azure, including landing zones, cost optimization, and cloud security.
• Experience evaluating AI, generative AI, automation, and low-code solutions, including use-case qualification and platform selection.
• Knowledge of agile delivery, version control, code review, CI/CD, and regulated technology environments including GxP, data integrity, privacy, 21 CFR Part 11, and GAMP 5.
