Annual base salary: $71,000–$103,700, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

  • Develop robust, scalable protein purification processes for transfer to manufacturing.
  • Purify proteins using column chromatography and filtration techniques.
  • Perform functional and physical assays to evaluate protein purity and stability.
  • Develop and verify buffer systems for specific protein design requirements.
  • Document experiments, curate samples, and prepare process development reports.
  • Troubleshoot results, stress-test processes, and present findings to team leaders.

Requirements

  • BS with 3–5 years of post-baccalaureate laboratory experience, or equivalent post-M.S. experience, in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing proteins and nucleic acids using SDS-PAGE, agarose gel electrophoresis, UV/Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence-based activity assays, or quantitation methods.
  • Experience performing PCR assays with fluorescent intercalating dyes or hydrolysis probes.
  • Familiarity with IMAC, affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, or size exclusion chromatography.
  • Experience formulating protein buffers and understanding salts, chelators, biological buffers, and reducing agents.
  • Experience with specification setting, method development and transfer, formal risk assessments, and enterprise tools such as SAP, Oracle, Agile, Microsoft Office, and JMP.
