What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop scientists while building an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team.
• Define purification and process-development strategies for antibodies, multispecifics, and other recombinant proteins.
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to interpret integrated data, manage trade-offs, and guide lead-selection decisions.
• Apply chromatography, FPLC, HPLC, protein-quality, and analytical expertise to balance purity, recovery, speed, scalability, and downstream needs.
• Advance laboratory automation, digital tools, and data workflows to improve throughput and reproducibility.
• Coordinate with expression, protein engineering, biophysics, pharmacology, and process-development functions.

Requirements

• PhD in biochemistry, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, protein science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in biologics or drug discovery.
• Experience leading and developing scientists and creating an inclusive, high-accountability team.
• Deep expertise in protein, antibody, or biologics purification and characterization, including chromatography, FPLC, HPLC, and relevant analytical methods.
• Experience optimizing purification processes and transferring scalable approaches to development partners.
• Ability to influence across functions, communicate complex science clearly, and make timely decisions under uncertainty.

Nice to have

• Experience with bispecific or multispecific antibodies, novel protein therapeutics, complex molecular formats, or antibody mechanisms of action.
• Discovery-to-development transfer, developability assessment, early CMC partnership, or manufacturability strategy experience.
• Laboratory automation, high-throughput purification, integrated data systems, advanced analytics, or responsible use of AI-enabled tools.
• Scientific publications, patents, external collaborations, or other evidence of scientific curiosity and impact.
