Research Scientist, Lipid Chemistry

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; onsite laboratory role

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 total compensation annually, including bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Conduct hands-on organic, lipid, and polymer chemical synthesis in the laboratory.
• Develop novel lipid and polymer molecules for RNA and gene delivery formulations.
• Design scalable synthetic processes for LNP and targeted LNP formulations with potential commercial use.
• Characterize materials and interpret analytical data from HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and related instruments.
• Maintain the chemistry laboratory and inventories according to good laboratory procedures.
• Communicate research findings, propose next steps, and monitor relevant scientific and technology trends.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in organic, polymer, or lipid chemistry from an accredited university.
• At least one year of postdoctoral experience in academia or industry.
• Proven scientific accomplishments demonstrated through publications or patents.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work hands-on in the laboratory and contribute to a collaborative research environment.
