Senior Application Scientist (Proteomics)

Location: On-site in Marlborough, Massachusetts, or Redwood Shores, California, United States. Up to 50% travel within North America is required.

Annual salary: $125,000–$135,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Prepare and deliver LC-MS product demonstrations, proteomics workflows, customer training, and ongoing application support.
• Partner with sales and business teams to identify opportunities and influence technical and commercial decisions.
• Design and implement end-to-end proteomics workflows covering sample preparation, analytical methods, and data processing.
• Contribute to the definition, testing, and application of new hardware and software for nominal- and accurate-mass LC-MS technologies.
• Represent SCIEX at conferences and build relationships with scientific, commercial, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• BS with 10+ years, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences focused on mass spectrometric analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with proteomics workflows, including sample preparation, method development, and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with quantitative and qualitative LC/MS workflows using accurate-mass instrumentation.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, customer-facing, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and availability for up to 50% travel within North America.

Nice to have

• Experience with SCIEX instrumentation and software, especially accurate-mass systems.
• Experience with MS/MS workflows for unknown identification.
• Scientific contributions in proteomics through publications, presentations, or collaborations.
