Daily Desk Student Intern, Summer 2027 (Remote) (Sports Journalism)

Location: Remote in the United States, with required travel to New York City; candidates based in New York City may work onsite in the New York office.

Salary: $25.00 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Attend daily meetings with Daily Desk editors.
• Edit stories submitted by different sports verticals and coordinate with reporters and vertical editors.
• Generate story ideas from current news during the reporting portion of the internship.
• Write and edit breaking-news coverage across sports.
• Build relationships with editors and reporters throughout the newsroom and contribute to coverage of multiple sports.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or postgraduate student; junior and senior undergraduates are especially encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work 30–40 hours per week during the 12-week program.
• Strong knowledge of and passion for sports.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Availability for night and weekend work.
• Remote work requires some travel to New York City; New York City-based candidates may work onsite.

Nice to have

• Previous newsroom internship experience.
