Podcast Summer Intern (Audio Journalism)

Location: New York, United States; minimum three days per week in the office

Salary: $22 per hour for 40 hours per week; paid ten-week internship running from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027.

What you will do

• Research and pitch audio story ideas across business, finance, and culture coverage.
• Gather tape and archive audio to develop compelling podcast stories.
• Coordinate and record interviews with FT journalists and other guests.
• Produce and edit elements of the FT News Briefing with guidance from the team leader.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated interest in multimedia journalism and experience with audio or podcast production.
• Experience working with Descript or similar editing software.
• Good writing and editing skills, with strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Interest in finance and business news.
• Journalism degree preferred.
