Sr Product Software Engineer

Location: Glendale, California, United States

Salary: $141,900–$190,300 per year, plus potential bonus, long-term incentive units, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and support rights and availability management applications for Disney media products and digital sales.
• Design, implement, and integrate medium-sized projects, features, APIs, and data workflows.
• Maintain core systems and their upstream and downstream integrations while reviewing code and enforcing engineering standards.
• Improve platform performance, scalability, resiliency, monitoring, and application health.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex cross-functional issues and contribute to technical strategy.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with internal and external teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong SQL expertise, including relational databases, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in Java and JVM languages, with hands-on experience in Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Integration.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including testing, continuous integration, code reviews, and documentation.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, CSS3, API design, OAuth, authentication, authorization, and access management.
• Practical AWS experience, including S3, RDS, messaging, VPC, CloudFormation or Terraform, event-driven architecture, and publish/subscribe systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SNS.

Nice to have

• Experience in media distribution.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, or Claude Code.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and collaboration across globally distributed teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
