Project Manager - Construction (Manufacturing)

Location: Kansas City, MO, USA; onsite construction leadership and active field coordination are required.

What you will do

• Lead construction projects through planning, preconstruction, field execution, turnover, and closeout.
• Coordinate superintendents, subcontractors, trade contractors, suppliers, project controls, safety, quality, procurement, design, and commissioning teams.
• Manage scope, budgets, schedules, change events, RFIs, submittals, procurement, documentation, risks, and project reporting.
• Enforce safety, quality, operational discipline, and construction standards across active field environments.
• Manage subcontractor performance, sequencing, productivity, issue resolution, and alignment with project milestones.
• Lead client-facing communication and maintain accountability for project financial performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of construction project management experience.
• Experience with field construction execution, subcontractor coordination, schedules, budgets, change management, and client communication.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, cost reporting, and schedule management.
• Ability to lead in active field environments and make practical decisions that keep work safe and efficient.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale industrial, manufacturing, life sciences, food and beverage, or other technically complex facilities.
• Experience with heavy construction, major renovation, expansion, greenfield, brownfield, or fast-track delivery.
• PMP, LEED, CCM, or another construction or project management certification.
