Sr Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $143,700–$197,608.50 per year

What you will do

• Lead medium-sized technical projects and cross-functional engineering teams through design, development, integration, and implementation.
• Balance technical, programmatic, cost, schedule, and quality constraints throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct trade studies and technical evaluations, provide estimation support for proposals and contracts, and report project status, KPIs, and technical performance metrics.
• Manage suppliers through Statements of Work, issue resolution, and return-to-green schedule plans.
• Own programmatic functions including risk management and cost and schedule management.
• Coordinate with customers, stakeholders, engineering disciplines, and Program Management while mentoring junior engineers and supporting conflict resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree, or a master’s degree with six years of experience.
• Typically 8+ years of related experience with extensive engineering expertise and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Experience leading technical teams and medium-sized cross-functional projects across the development lifecycle.
• Strong project management expertise, including EVMS, CAM, or equivalent techniques and processes.
• Experience with risk and opportunity management, complex engineering design evaluations, and issue resolution.
• Excellent technical communication, strategic thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with systems engineering, systems integration, project management tools, CAD, PLM, Agile, or Lean methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience managing multiple projects, project budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.
