TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing, developing, testing, and validating electrical and electronic systems for complex aerospace and defense applications with an accent on circuit card assemblies, wiring design, system safety, and compliance. Focus on troubleshooting complex circuits, analyzing EWIS and FMEA requirements, leading design reviews, and mentoring engineers.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment

Salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Develop circuit card assemblies and implement electrical wiring design practices.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee testing and validation of electronic systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex electronic circuits and evaluate performance data.
  • Prepare and review technical designs, test plans, and test results.
  • Lead design reviews, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
  • Expert proficiency in electrical and electronic design and validation techniques.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering tools and multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic federal regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System requirements, FMEA, and System Safety Assessment concepts.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with electrical CAD software, Electrical Load Analysis, circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of model-based definition, component selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with EMC, EMI, HIRF, IEL, digital or analog circuit design, schematic capture, and printed circuit board layout.
