Staff Nurse Merrimack Valley (24 hrs/week) (Oncology)

Location: Methuen, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to oncology and hematology patients and their families.
• Assess patient needs, develop care plans, administer treatments, and evaluate clinical outcomes.
• Prepare and administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, supportive therapy, medications, infusions, and occasional blood transfusions.
• Provide patient and family education, symptom management, psychosocial support, and telephone triage.
• Perform intravenous therapy, including peripheral and central venous access, and follow hazardous-agent handling procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, coordinate referrals, support quality initiatives, and serve as a resource to other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Active registered nurse license in Massachusetts or New Hampshire, as appropriate.
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS is accepted as the minimum requirement.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred; associate degree holders must complete a BSN within four years.
• At least one year of recent RN experience or completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and independent decision-making skills; ability to work with complex patient needs.

Nice to have

• Ambulatory or oncology nursing experience.
• Intravenous therapy skills.
• Professional certification such as OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, or RN-BC.
