Location: McAllen, Texas, with work at the Rio Grande Valley Regional Prospective Student Center in Pharr, Texas

Texas A&M University’s Office of Undergraduate Recruitment supports freshman, transfer, international, and other prospective students through recruitment, enrollment, and campus visit programs.

What you will do

  • Plan and coordinate daily administrative operations, office procedures, calendars, appointments, records, meetings, and reference materials.
  • Serve as a point of contact for admissions and student services, research policies and procedures, and respond to information requests.
  • Coordinate student meetings, recruitment programs, events, facilities, charter buses, travel arrangements, registrations, and event records.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, communications, agendas, itineraries, and data summaries using databases and presentation software.
  • Manage office supplies, purchases, invoices, budgets, facilities requests, equipment records, university vehicles, and confidential documents.
  • Act as a liaison with the main campus and building management regarding telecommunications, equipment, invoices, space, repairs, and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of office administration experience.
  • Strong organization, communication, customer service, proofreading, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computers, word-processing, and spreadsheet programs.
  • English literacy is required, including the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with students and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Presentation development, program design and assessment, and knowledge of FERPA.
