Management Trainee (Automotive Recycling)

Location: On-site in Saint-Nicéphore, Quebec, with rotations through sites in Quebec including the South Shore, Drummondville, and Sherbrooke

American Iron & Metal operates metal recycling and automotive recycling sites across Canada and internationally. Kenny U-Pull gives used vehicles a second life through vehicle recycling and retail operations.

What you will do

• Rotate through call center, dispatch, vehicle purchasing and sales, marketing, customer service, operations, systems, training, and health and safety functions.
• Develop practical knowledge of branch operations, yard management, vehicle depollution, and retail processes.
• Coach, mentor, and support frontline employees to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
• Support vehicle purchasing and sales transactions, ensuring required processes and documentation are completed accurately.
• Investigate workplace accidents and injuries, document findings, and contribute to corrective action plans.
• Prepare to lead branch operations and retail activities after completing the development program.

Requirements

• Graduate of a college, university, or trade school.
• 5–10 years of experience in retail and/or customer service.
• 3–5 years of management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication, professional email etiquette, organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Critical and logical thinking skills for sound decision-making.
• Open availability is required because branches operate seven days a week, with work in office, production, and outdoor environments.
