Employment Consultant (ECON)

Location: Ajax, Ontario, Canada; local travel and access to a reliable vehicle required

Salary: CAD 25.25 per hour

What you will do

• Assess participant needs, identify employment barriers, and provide solutions-focused employment support.
• Support job search and retention activities, including job fairs, participant marketing, job coaching, and ongoing follow-up.
• Develop employer and community organization networks to create sustainable employment opportunities.
• Create and maintain individual Employment Action Plans with participants.
• Provide vocational counselling, training guidance, retention support, and job search skills development.
• Collaborate with participants, employers, internal teams, and community stakeholders with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field from a recognized Canadian institution or equivalent, plus relevant certifications or training.
• At least two years of related experience in employment services, case management, counselling, or assessment.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities or barriers to employment, including WSIB and/or ODSP referrals.
• Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation, career planning, job search techniques, accommodations, and local and regional labour markets.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, organization, research, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada, a clear Enhanced Police Check, and the ability to travel locally with access to a reliable vehicle are required.
