Senior Training Specialist (EHS)

Location: McCarran, Nevada, United States. The role is primarily performed onsite in a plant and production environment, with regular operating-floor presence and periodic travel to support R&D and field service operations.

What you will do

• Oversee EHS and training programs supporting power electronics manufacturing, R&D, commissioning, product certification testing, field service, and maintenance.
• Partner with process and manufacturing engineering on production-line design, ramp-up, and changes to eliminate hazards before equipment reaches production.
• Conduct lab, prototype, electrical safety, field-work, lockout/tag-out, energized-equipment, and site-specific hazard assessments.
• Maintain training matrices and learning management system records, track certifications, and report completion metrics to leadership.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections and update EHS content as equipment, standards, and operational feedback change.
• Develop and deliver LOTO, electrical safety, forklift, general industry, toolbox talk, work-instruction, and visual training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industrial EHS training experience.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and delivering EHS programs in manufacturing, heavy industry, or warehousing.
• Working knowledge of federal and state general industry safety regulations, ANSI B11 machine safety standards, and risk assessment methods.
• Experience applying Design for EHS or prevention-through-design principles.
• Strong classroom and floor-level instruction, technical writing, organization, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to stop unsafe work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and learning management or EHS platforms; ability to work around noise, dust, moving equipment, and required PPE.

Nice to have

• Authorized outreach trainer status for general industry safety training, or the ability to obtain it within the first year.
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification.
• Experience in battery recycling, renewable energy, inverter manufacturing, solar panel manufacturing, or power electronics OEMs.
