TL;DR
Engineer, BEV Vehicle Function Development & Calibration (BEV Powertrain): Developing, integrating, and calibrating drive-system functions for electric and electrified Scout SUVs and pickup trucks with an accent on off-road strategies, vehicle testing, and software integration. Focus on defining requirements, coordinating interfaces, executing validation and calibration activities, and releasing robust vehicle functions across the V-model.

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel.

Base salary: $110,000–$135,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Support the development, integration, and calibration of BEV and EREV powertrain and drive-system functions.
  • Coordinate function development across internal engineering teams and suppliers, including requirements, calibration strategy, software maturity, validation status, and release timelines.
  • Own function integration with the software development team from concept through series release.
  • Define on-road and off-road requirements, interfaces, operating strategies, and related vehicle UI/UX requirements.
  • Develop test cases and support prototype and vehicle testing, calibration drives, off-road testing, data analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Collaborate with powertrain hardware, chassis, vehicle dynamics, systems engineering, and E/E teams on integrated solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, automotive engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in powertrain or drive-system development, calibration, and validation for concept or serial vehicle programs, preferably BEV or EREV.
  • Hands-on experience with function development and integration across the V-model, including requirements, interfaces, test cases, validation, and software releases.
  • Experience with off-road or driveline functions, such as locking differentials, traction or torque control, and off-road driving modes.
  • Practical experience with calibration and validation on test benches and vehicles, including structured data analysis and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, Simulink models, and C-based source code, plus experience coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers.
