TL;DR
Senior Calibration Engineer (Retail Data) (Automotive Data Engineering): Leading calibration, integration, validation, and deployment of production-level data recording solutions for ADAS and retail autonomous-vehicle data collection across vehicles, benches, simulation environments, and connected fleets with an accent on configuration development, release readiness, and fleet monitoring. Focus on designing end-to-end validation, diagnosing complex integration issues, analyzing campaign metrics, and supporting scalable production deployments.

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid with in-person reporting at least three times per week

What you will do

  • Own calibration strategy, configuration development, and deliverables for ADAS data recording and retail autonomous-vehicle data collection.
  • Integrate data-recording software, applications, and configuration files across vehicles, benches, SoC platforms, and simulation environments.
  • Lead software-release calibration activities, including configuration creation, testing, deployment, and release-readiness evaluation.
  • Plan and execute end-to-end validation through test-plan development, formal testing, defect documentation, and reporting.
  • Define and manage connected-fleet data-collection campaigns, including deployment, performance monitoring, metric analysis, and controlled rollouts.
  • Lead issue triage and root-cause analysis, establish fleet monitoring and alerting, and mentor calibration engineers and partner teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in automotive software integration, calibration, validation, or data-collection systems.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional engineering activities and influencing technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and software systems, embedded applications, data pipelines, and system integration.
  • Experience deploying production-level calibrations or configuration files across multiple vehicle programs or software releases.
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, shell scripting, or test-automation frameworks.
  • Experience with Grafana or similar dashboard, monitoring, and alerting tools.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, GMLAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, QNX, Linux, Azure, or other embedded and cloud environments.
  • DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
