What you will do

• Lead the design and development of electric and internal-combustion powertrain systems.
• Break down complex technical challenges and support junior engineers in delivering solutions.
• Define engineering standards and best practices for FEA, design guidelines, and hand calculations.
• Support in-service products through failure investigations and cost-reduction exercises.
• Work with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure consistent powertrain production and support production ramp-ups and supplier changes.
• Communicate complex technical information to multidisciplinary audiences and deliver independent, high-quality work.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, with an emphasis on mechanical design.
• Experience owning multiple powertrain systems from concept through full lifecycle in an automotive environment.
• Experience with Electric Drive Units and internal-combustion engines.
• Strong understanding of powertrain manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD systems, preferably CATIA, FEA including stress analysis and thermal simulations, and rotating-component design.
