Materials Manager

Location: Wood Dale, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 USD per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Lead and develop buyer/planners responsible for material planning and replenishment.
• Optimize inventory levels, inventory turns, working capital, and production material availability.
• Manage supplier on-time delivery, open purchase orders, raw materials, finished goods, goods in transit, and vendor-managed inventory.
• Establish planning parameters such as safety stock, reorder points, lead times, kanban, and min/max levels.
• Align demand forecasts and supply plans with customer requirements and service-level targets.
• Lead risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, inventory reduction, supplier performance, and ERP utilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or business administration.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in materials management.
• At least 4 years of experience in a materials management leadership role.
• Knowledge of VES tools, including Kaizen, 5S, SQDP, and PSP.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft applications.
