Global Trade Compliance Manager (Software)

Location: United States; Portland, Denver, or the Washington, DC area. Other locations and remote work may be considered.

Salary: $101,000–$181,500 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles.

What you will do

• Develop and implement strategies, processes, policies, and workflows for global trade compliance.
• Lead export classification workflows and documentation in collaboration with product, engineering, offering, and legal teams.
• Plan and conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and corrective-action tracking.
• Develop trade compliance training plans, materials, and completion tracking.
• Coordinate trade compliance planning and execution for mergers and acquisitions.
• Improve compliance workflows through automated tools and AI enhancements.

Requirements

• Significant experience with U.S. export controls and economic sanctions, including restricted-party screening, end-user and end-use controls, country-based licensing requirements, and OFAC sanctions programs.
• Experience developing, implementing, and improving trade compliance programs.
• Experience scoping and conducting internal audits and assessments and tracking corrective actions.
• Experience integrating acquired companies, particularly export control and sanctions-list screening requirements.
• Familiarity with export classification processes; experience with encryption controls and ITAR is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, project-management, and business skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.

• Experience with EU and UK export control and sanctions programs.
• Experience in software, cloud services, IT, or manufacturing.
