Global Trade Compliance Manager

TL;DR

Global Trade Compliance Manager: Building and executing trade compliance strategies for domestic and international defense business with an accent on export/import law compliance (ITAR, EAR, OFAC, ATF) and complex license/authorization workflows. Focus on guiding defense aerospace manufacturing operations, managing high-volume compliance requirements, and aligning stakeholders across business units and global time zones.

Location: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY (must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work on-site)

Salary: $120,000.00–$160,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Partner with the Defense Division to support domestic and international business opportunities through trade compliance strategy and solutions.
• Research and recommend trade parameters for countries outside the host country and guide compliance for new locations.
• Collect and prioritize high-volume trade requirements from defense meetings, coordinate timely authorizations, and drive metrics and automation.
• Lead commodity and technology classifications using hirify.global authorized systems and support investigations, projects, and other trade-related issues.
• Craft and submit complex license applications/authorizations and Technology Control Plans to the US government.
• Act as a liaison across functions (Business Development, Supply Chain, Contracts, Engineering, Finance) and align priorities across the SDG Operating Group.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of direct experience with export/import tasks and regulations.
• Over 3 years of program/project management experience.
• Subject matter expertise in US Export/Import regulations, including ITAR, EAR, ATF, and OFAC.
• Experience using trade compliance tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, GTS, OCR EASE, SNAP-R, DECCS, and ATF electronic submission process).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (potentially 2 times per month).
• Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work on-site.
