Principal Platform Engineer Tech Lead (FX)

What you will do

• Define the technical vision and lead architecture decisions for Foreign Exchange trading, pricing, execution, settlement, and downstream integrations.
• Own the design, build, run, modernization, and production support lifecycle for FX applications and services.
• Improve platform availability, resiliency, observability, incident recovery, release success, and operational risk management.
• Lead design, code, and architecture reviews while establishing engineering standards and mentoring platform engineers.
• Manage technical relationships with FX platform vendors, coordinate issue resolution, and influence vendor product direction.
• Lead large-scale initiatives involving cloud adoption, automation, infrastructure refreshes, and platform transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of technology experience supporting complex enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years in senior engineering, lead engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production systems and making architecture decisions across multiple applications and teams.
• Experience in financial services, Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange, Treasury, or trading technologies.
• Expertise in application support, release management, production stability, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience with WallStreet Systems, Caplin, Aphelion, Bloomberg integrations, market data systems, or replacement FX platforms.
• Experience with cloud technologies, platform modernization, DevOps, CI/CD, SRE, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience using AI-enabled engineering tools to improve delivery and operational efficiency.
• Strong vendor management experience.
