Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Maplewood, Minnesota, United States. The role includes up to 5% domestic and international travel and requires legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Expected compensation: $145,676–$178,049, including base pay and variable incentive pay where eligible.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, operation, security, and evolution of hirify.global’s Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA HCP) platform.
• Lead consolidation of the enterprise Kubernetes estate, including migration sequencing and retirement of legacy platforms.
• Design standards for high availability, multi-cluster operations, scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, networking, observability, and security.
• Engineer core platform services such as ingress, service mesh, secrets management, container registries, policy enforcement, and platform automation.
• Build GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and self-service capabilities for repeatable cluster lifecycle management and improved developer productivity.
• Lead platform operations, including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, incident response, on-call practices, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related technology field, or a high school diploma plus six years of hands-on experience.
• At least five years of experience designing, deploying, or operating Kubernetes platforms.
• At least five years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a related discipline.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, control-plane components, networking, security, workload management, and container technologies.
• Strong automation and scripting experience with Git, APIs or CLI tools, Python, Bash, and Ansible, plus Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Red Hat OpenShift and ROSA administration experience.
• CKA, CKS, CKAD, AWS, Azure, or other cloud certifications.
• Experience with Argo CD or similar GitOps tools, GitHub Actions, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, and container registries.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Elastic, or similar observability platforms.
• Experience supporting large-scale globally distributed Kubernetes environments and coaching engineers, architects, and technical leads.
